What to expect when you worship with us

Services at St. John's follow the Book of Common Prayer (see link below), which lays out the form and prayers of our service. Typical services will mix readings from the Old and New Testament (see link below), psalms, prayers, hymns and a sermon. Our priest, Father Darius, assisted by Deacon Nancy, leads the service with the congregation participating extensively.  All information for participating in the service is found in the bulletin available at the back of the church as people come in.

Music during worship is an ebb and flow between traditional hymns played by our organist/keyboardist, Vickie Matttice, along with gospel and contemporary Christian praise music.  Father Darius accompanies many songs on guitar and violin.

Holy Communion is administered at the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services.  All baptized Christians are welcome to receive the blessed bread and wine and everybody is invited to come to the altar rail to receive a blessing.

A friendly and "filling" coffee hour is offered at the end of the service.
