The Marks of Discipleship Study Series is off to a great start at St. John's. This Episcopal Diocese of Albany study course centers around their 12 Marks of Discipleship that are included in the Scripture-based Diocesan Vision Statement. This study series is designed to help us grow in our faith and deepen our understanding of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. There are 12 individual video lessons featuring a Bishop, Priest, Deacon, or layperson from (or connected to) the Episcopal Diocese of Albany speaking on on of these Marks. The 12 Marks are: Prayer, Worship, Scripture, Catholic Structures of Anglicanism, Christian Education, Christian Fellowship, Spiritual Gifts, Healing, Christian Service, Stewardship, Evangelism, and Mission.
Each session begins with prayer. We then watch a short video and engage in group discussion. You will also be given an opportunity to further explore and apply each Mark of Discipleship on your own. The sessions are stand alone so anyone may join a group at any time.
Groups meet on the following days: Mondays at 7 PM; Wednesday starting with dinner at 6 PM, and Saturday starting with breakfast at 7:30 AM. The program will continue through Lent and will end the week of March 25th, the week before Holy Week.
